Making

Keeping the creative fires alive

Making is a part of who I am and how I interact with the world.

Working with my hands has always been important to me. Whether it's carpentry, sculpture, silversmithing, macramé or something else entirely, I love to make things.

I think the creative drive, the desire to bring a creative vision into the three-dimensional world, is fundamental to keeping joy alive. Following the different sparks of creativity and wonder keeps the fires burning within us, fires that can make life feel so rich and fulfilling.

At EarthCraft, making is about following those sparks and tending them into a fire. Exploring ideas, learning new skills, working with different materials and discovering what happens along the way. Sometimes that might mean making a piece of jewellery or a sculpture, sometimes spending a week exploring a new creative idea, or taking a project out into nature. It's about enjoying the creative process, giving our curiosity room to play and seeing what emerges.

As time goes on, I'll be sharing videos of my making projects here, along with the creative processes, experiments and adventures as they evolve.
